Meet Our Founder
Briana was raised by a long line of independent women who inspired her to always fearlessly reach for the unattainable. The creation of Santora Street was one of those times. Driven by a mission to provide ethical and sustainable products to her community, she created this marketplace to do just that, all while supporting other business owners just like her.
Why Santora Street?
Born in 1920, Dorothy Santora was seven years old when Charles Lindbergh made the first solo nonstop transatlantic flight. She was nine when the stock market crashed and gave rise to the Great Depression, 18 when the first minimum wage was set at 25 cents per hour, and watched the U.S. enter World War II just before her 21st birthday. A decade later she saw the U.S., go to war in Korea, deem segregation in schools unconstitutional, and launch its first satellite. She later witnessed the rise of the Civil Rights Movement and the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and at the age of 66 Dorothy watched as the Challenger space shuttle exploded.
Our founder entered Dorothy's life at age 71 and was lucky enough to spend the next 25 years learning about her tremendous life and all she had experienced. Dorothy was brave and well known for her spit-fire personality. She was strong and opinionated yet kind and compassionate. Dorothy was an integral part of our founders life and now her legacy will forever live here on Santora Street.

Our founder vividly remembers visiting Dorothy at her vacation trailer home in Florida. Dorothy would freshly squeeze juice from the oranges they picked off of her famous orange tree. When we think of Dorothy..
We think of the tree.
